Welcome to Tuxedo, a community rich with history and culture. It is the mission of our School District to build upon the town’s legacy of innovation and modernization by delivering the best possible education and academic experience for every student.

At George F. Baker High School and George Grant Mason Elementary School, smaller class sizes provide the perfect setting for a more customized, hands-on approach to learning. This is why our motto is “a private school atmosphere in a public school setting.” Students at our district are more than a number; each child receives personalized attention and care from the faculty and staff at our schools.

With an emphasis on STEM education, we believe our students will be placed at the doorstep of the nation’s top colleges and universities, on their way to a cutting edge career. STEM education is an approach to teaching and learning that integrates the content and skills of science, technology, engineering and mathematics into all coursework and classes. On both the elementary and secondary level, this opportunity provides students with skills that are applicable to all fields of study. George F. Baker High School is the only school in New York State to be recognized with a “National Certificate for STEM Excellence (
NCSE)” by the National Institute for STEM Education.

The Tuxedo Union Free School District Board of Education and administration is dedicated to the long-term development of the whole student. A robust selection of academic and extra curricular offerings are available in our schools, including several service based clubs.

Here at TUFSD, we believe we are well on our way to becoming one of the nation’s top 100 school districts. I encourage you to visit the  “
Getting Results,” “Student Success,” and “Points of Pride" sections of our website to see the steps we are taking to get there.
