The kudos keep coming for the Tuxedo Tornadoes Volleyball team, who was awarded the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar Athlete Team Award for the Fall 2023 Season, as a result of the team collectively averaging a 95.2 GPA.
Individually, the athletes received additional honors:
- Veronica Chavez received the Sportsmanship Award at the State Final Four, which was voted on by her teammates.
- Vanessa Duarte, Alexandra Scully, Veronica Chavez, and Madison Marsh were all named to the Section IX Class D All Star Team.
- Madison Marsh was named the Player of the Year in Class D, as well as made the State Final Four All-Tournament Team.
Coach Michelle Hines says the team is well deserving of the awards. “I am so impressed and proud of the work these young ladies put forth simultaneously on the court and in the classroom.”
