Ethics Bowl

Two teams of George F. Baker High School students traveled to Manhattanville College to compete against 12 other high schools in the Westchester division of the Ninth Annual National High School Ethics Bowl.

Each team discussed different ethical dilemmas related to current life such as “Should we be editing classic books in order to make them more palatable for today’s socially conscious society or should we use them as teaching moments?”, winning five of their six rounds.

The participants spent several months preparing. Advisor Beth McGowan said captains Madison Marsh and Sam Kainatsky displayed extremely strong leadership roles, guiding their teams on how to work together and participate thoughtfully. “I am so proud of the group’s hard work and dedication. It paid off in an exceptional performance, and I am happy they did so well. They deserve to be celebrated!”
