We are excited to share with you that our school community will be celebrating Unity Day on October 20th this year. Unity Day is an annual event occurring during National Bullying Prevention Month in October that promotes joining together to create healthier communities through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Students in both GGM and GFB will participate in unity building activities with minimal disruption instructional time. In an effort to further promote unity, all faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to wear orange on this day! We hope you’ll take this opportunity to talk to your children about bullying prevention and all the positive things we can do to make healthier communities. To Parents of Students on Bus T40:
The railroad gates on the metro north tracks are locked in a down position. The police are not allowing any vehicular traffic to cross. The police will escort children across the track to be met by their parents. This only affects students who ride bus T40. Our transportation supervisor will remain with the students until they are picked up by their parents.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11/01. On that date 2,973 innocent American and non-US souls lost their lives and over 6,000 more sustained physical injuries at the hands of 19 hijackers. Also profoundly impacted were the countless family members and friends whose lives were devastated after having lost their loved ones. Let us also not forget the growing number of casualties among the first responders and those charged with the clean-up, recovery, and rebuilding of our beloved cities who are now suffering injury and illness from both the trauma, and resulting toxic debris. On a personal note, my family too, fell victim to both of these aforementioned groups. These senseless acts changed not only our skylines but our way of life. Our hearts go out to all of those impacted. May we continue to teach our children that violence is never the answer and to continually strive to create a world that is safe, filled with peace, love and understanding. And let us never forget.
